Quote of the Day: "Some people try to turn back the odometers. Not me, I want people to know “why” I look this way. I’ve traveled a long way and some of the roads weren’t paved." Will Rogers

Wes Sessions, Colstrip "I have known Duane Ankney for over 20 years and if there is one word that best describes him, it is PASSIONATE!  Duane is passionate about his family, his friends, his country and he is passionate about Eastern Montana.  I AM a supporter of Duane Ankney for House District #43."

William Penn, Energy Links, Inc. "I would like to let others know just what kind of commitment Duane Ankney has to community.
I have known Duane for just about 25 years now and have seen what kind of time and effort he puts into his family and community. The first experience I had working with Duane on an issue that had a magnitude that effect not only his community but the State of Montana. That was when Duane helped organize SOS (Save Our State). SOS was an organization formed to help lower the coal severance tax that was enacted to kill coal mining in Montana and it just about worked. The 30% severance tax just about killed coal mining until Duane and others went to the “87” legislative session to get it lowered to 15% to save precious jobs and existing coal contracts. Gov. Schwenden said he would sign the bill and Northern States Power said it would resume its obligation on all of its tonnage if the Bill went through and it did.
Due to Duane’s hard work and commitment to the coal industry 150 miners went back to work because of the lowering of the coal severance tax, an excessive tax to begin with.
Duane has served as a school board member, thousands of hours dedicated to AAU Wrestling (not only for his kids but every one else’s), community events such as Colstrip Days, many trips to the legislative sessions working on issues to help provide jobs in Eastern Montana, working with legislators on both sides of the isle both State and Federal for legislation that improves our quality of life, and all of this for not only community but for the fact he wants his children to have the opportunity to work and live in the best place in the country, Montana.
Duane is an honest strait shooting Montanan who wants the best for the people of Montana. Duane tells you how it is not what you want to hear. Duane can work with anyone who wants to get the job done. I know this for a fact because we have accomplished quite a few projects that other said couldn’t be done. You can trust and believe in Duane to get the job done. A quote Duane has no problem with “Don’t worry about the mules, just load the wagon” and Duane will help move Eastern Montana forward."
